This is a no-brainer but...
We're not the only ones who love to craft! Our pets love it too... that's why they are always nosyin' around when we are working on our cosplay! However we use plenty of sharp objects, toxic chemicals and plenty of other nicnacs to construct our costumes that they can get a hold of!
For example, I was hand sewing this thing and I cut the string off with the needle still attached to it and I went to the bathroom, after 5 minutes I heard my mom yelling " GRAAACE!!! GRACE!!!" So I ran out and asked her what was wrong, and in a panicking voice she said " THE CAT HAS A NEEDLE IN HER MOUTH!!!" So I saw my one cat, Bobbi with the needle sticking out of her mouth and she was trying to get away from us as she ran behind the TV, my mom finally grabbed her and I took the needle from her mouth and it was followed by wet thread. We were VERY lucky to have found her before she swallowed it!
I heard a story from this woman that she was using her sewing machine and her cat decided to stick his paw into the area with the moving needle! It was a good thing that she was able to get him to the vet and heal the paw, but still!
I was told by someone on Facebook that their cat actually drank some of their mod podge and pulled straight pins out of their outfit!
So always keep sewing machines, needles, straight pins, scissors, bobbins, bobby pins, modpodge, hot glue guns, thread, resin, clay or any other small objects in a safe spot away from your pets!! 'Cause it would be horrible if you had a deceased pet because of items being unmonitored!!
Also, work in a secluded area so your animals won't tear up your fabric, I laid my fabric out nicely to put the pattern on it and my other cat, Cookie, decided to attack it and bundled it up and got holes in it from her claws. I also heard a story from another girl on facebook that her dog chewed up one of her wigs... So keep wigs in a beast-proof area too!
